Priro.pro's Content Guidelines: What You Can See and Submit to this Website
Priro.pro is a space for adults who can accept that non-sexual and sexual content can, should, and do exist alongside each other.
On this site, you will find art and indie media of all different shapes, sizes, genders, and sexualities, but no matter what, the Priro.pro Indie Haven is a space for adults only.
It is not recommended to browse Priro.pro when you are at work, under 18, or around minors.
There are many ads that toe the line between SFW and NSFW, and links to explicitly 18+ content.
All this considered, please rest assured you will not be bombarded with visual pornographic images when browsing this site, if you are someone who simply doesn’t want to see that for any reason.
Please read on if you are someone who is looking to submit an ad, or if you are concerned with the type of imagery to be explored on this site.
What kind of imagery will I see on this site?
Homepage ads will contain only SFW content. This is the page that most people see first, including customers who scan my QR codes at markets. Any pages that aren’t in the Indie Haven that display ads will also have very SFW ads only. The Indie Haven, which is clearly labelled as an adult space, has both SFW and semi-NSFW imagery, but never explicit NSFW imagery.
When I speak of “NSFW,” I use the most literal definition of “not safe for work,” which is anything that would get you in trouble at a job if they saw you looking at it on your phone or computer.
I think this is a great term to use when alerting/tagging things on social media, which the average person scrolls through innocuously on a daily basis as a regular, normalized activity.
However, this site is not an infinitely scrollable place. It has a clear direction and purpose, and that is to direct you to a whole bunch of indie creators. You can go on this site and find something cool every time you want to, and it is a conscious decision to do so.
For this reason, I’ve decided to accept ads that may be considered “scandalous” enough to be NSFW, but do not contain explicit content. Ads and links may lead to explicit content, but you will never see explicit content unless you choose to click on an ad for it, which will clearly be labelled as 18+ only. This way, 18+ creators will be able to advertise their work without having to keep it too “buttoned up,” and people who might want to look through cool indie media without getting jumpscared by full-on sexual intercourse can browse in peace.
This is a space that is, statistically, most frequented by queer people. If you’re here, you can probably handle a guy with some nipple piercings in a crop top without fainting, but not everyone wants to see bangin’ in their sidebar.
Sex evokes a lot of strong feelings. It can remind people of trauma, repulse them, arouse them, or just generally surprise them with feelings they might not necessarily want to have.
That’s powerful! It’s so cool to me that one of the most stigmatized normal parts of life can evoke such strong feelings! But seeing sex is best when the viewer consents to seeing it, and I don’t think I should lock people out who don’t feel like being bombarded with porn when they want to find a cool visual novel or comic to read.
Plus, why would I give you that shit for free, when you could go support an artist about it? If you want it, click around a little bit, you’ll find a link to something you’re looking for. Here, you don’t have to worry about accidentally running into anything NSFW, because we make it much easier to do it on purpose instead!
So then, in less ambiguous language, what NSFW imagery is okay, and what is considered too explicit?
Ad Guidelines
Worded for both creators looking to submit ads and viewers wanting to know what they’re going to see here.
I DO NOT accept/ You WILL NOT see ads that contain explicit sexual activity or nudity, or minors displayed/ spoken of in a sexual context.
I DO accept/ You WILL see ads that contain partial nudity, obscured nudity, characters in racy outfits, characters posed in sexually provocative ways, and text that uses explicit language.
I DO NOT accept/ You WILL NOT see detailed blood, gore, and/or violence.
I DO accept/ You WILL see minimal “fruit punch” cartoon blood and mild themes of horror (dripping blood text, vampire with a dripping mouth)
I DO NOT accept/ You WILL NOT click on surprise links that bring you to sexual content when you don’t want to see it.
I DO accept/You WILL see ads and pages that are clearly labelled 18+ only, and definitely will bring you to sexual content if you click on them.
I DO NOT accept/ You WILL NOT see ads made with generative AI or ads for art made with generative AI.
I DO accept/You WILL ONLY see art made by humans.
If your ad follows all of the guidelines for ads I accept, but I somehow feel it could be something I don’t think I want to display, I will contact you and explain why so I can give you an opportunity to change whatever’s wrong with the ad. This is the beauty of a site run by Just Some Guy — you can just e-mail me!
Please make the choice not to browse the Priro.pro Indie Haven around children, your boss, or your born-again Christian auntie. This is the best way to ensure you enjoy the cool stuff on here in peace.
Whether your work is completely SFW, straddling the line between SFW and NSFW, or straight-up explicit sexual content, Priro.pro is a place for you.
The Priro.pro Indie Haven is a place where I want as many people as possible to feel welcome. It’s because of this that I’ve decided to make this a place where 18+/NSFW creators can place their links and ads.
In a time where adult content is being so heavily censored, I don’t want to leave adult content creators behind.
Art is still art, even if it’s horny.
Just as many works here, if not more, are considered to be 18+/adult content/NSFW but do not contain explicit sexual content. For example, my own visual novel series Parfum Nostalgique doesn’t contain explicit sexual content, but it is made for adults with adult themes, sexual and non-sexual. My main character is a sex worker, there’s blood, there's extremely tame BDSM, there’s suicide, there’s existentialism and awareness of mortality that I definitely wouldn’t want a kid thinking about earlier than they need to. It’s in a different category of adult content, but it’s suppressed similarly to explicit sexual content because of its shameless flaunting of sexuality and obvious queerness. It isn’t porn, but it’s definitely been mistaken for it many times. It even requires a Twitch-safe patch for streamers who want to play it, simply to cover up partial nudity that wasn’t modest enough for guidelines.
Parfum Nostalgique is just one of many games that fall into an ambiguously NSFW category, one that is quickly including more and more media as global web censorship continues to escalate.
If you have an ad you'd like to submit to Priro.pro, you can click on any of the "your ad here" pictures in the sidebar to be brought directly to the submission form. These images also serve as templates for your ad's dimensions. You can also click here. That works too.
